Shipping at orbital velocity

Every user-visible change, dated and in the open.

Improved

Security hardening, faster failures, and a much stricter build

  • ◆ Connections now belong to exactly one workspace at the database level, not just in the app. Three ways a request could have reached across workspaces were closed, and the checks that prove it run on every change we make.
  • ◆ Connecting an app through sign-in (OAuth) is now tied to the workspace that started it, so a connection can only ever land where you began.
  • ◆ Every connector request now gives up after 30 seconds instead of hanging. If an app stops responding you get a plain message naming it and the time limit, rather than a spinner that never resolves.
  • ◆ We upgraded the framework Orbit runs on to pick up security fixes, and added an automatic scan so known vulnerabilities cannot quietly accumulate.
New

Release notes — see exactly what changed

  • ◆ A What’s new page, reachable from the top of every screen, so you can see what shipped without asking us.
  • ◆ Admins get a fuller technical view: every change that landed, when, what areas it touched, which database migrations it carried, and how large it was.
  • ◆ The admin view is generated from what we actually ship, so it cannot drift out of date the way a hand-written list does.
Improved

Schedules in your own time zone, and clearer playbook risk

  • ◆ Schedules now run in a time zone you pick, defaulting to your browser’s, and show the next run in your local time. Daylight saving is handled, and existing schedules keep working exactly as before.
  • ◆ The playbook canvas fills the screen instead of sitting in a small fixed box, with a full-screen toggle and collapsible panels.
  • ◆ What used to be a bare “confidence” number on a playbook step is now a severity band that says what it means and what to do when it is low.
  • ◆ When an approved action fails, the assistant now explains what went wrong and how to fix it instead of sitting on “waiting for approval” forever.
  • ◆ Enterprise customers moving to a self-hosted install can switch a cloud workspace to offline mode, which pauses the online copy so the two cannot both act.
Improved

Upgraded to the latest Claude models

  • ◆ Maximum and Balanced now run on Anthropic's newest generation — noticeably better at multi-step work: picking the right action, chaining several apps together, and recovering when an API answers unexpectedly.
  • ◆ These models reason between tool calls, so skills and playbooks think before they act. Quick one-shot jobs skip that step and stay just as fast.
  • ◆ No change to how AI Power is priced. Reasoning-heavy runs use somewhat more of it than before, and Orbit still shows the estimate before you run anything expensive.
Improved

Orbit rides out AI outages instead of failing

  • ◆ When the AI provider is overloaded, Orbit now retries automatically with backoff — and if it's still busy, skills and playbooks finish on a faster model rather than failing the run.
  • ◆ Provider hiccups are explained in plain English ("Orbit's AI is unusually busy right now…") instead of a raw error code.
  • ◆ Runs are always billed to the model that actually answered.
Improved

Clearer webhooks, a sharper Assistant, and the cursor fix you asked for

  • ◆ New to webhooks? There's now a plain-language explainer on the Webhooks page — what a webhook actually is, the three steps to set one up, and whether it's safe.
  • ◆ Every clickable thing shows a hand cursor again instead of an arrow. Thanks to the beta tester who spotted it.
  • ◆ Connector Actions now says what it's for: searching every action across all your connected apps at once, for when you know what you need done but not which app does it.
  • ◆ Orbit Assistant stays on topic — your apps, your data, and using Orbit — rather than answering general trivia.
Improved

The assistant now respects — and explains — disabled actions

  • ◆ When an admin disables an action (Never, or a whole action type), Orbit Assistant and Skills no longer quietly reach for a similar action instead — they tell you which permission is missing and where an admin can change it.
  • ◆ Slack rich messages are validated before sending, so malformed cards fail with a clear explanation instead of Slack's bare "invalid_blocks".
Improved

Starlab history, smarter Slack errors, and fixes

  • ◆ The Starlab orbit strip now keeps the last 7 days of launches — click any finished flight to jump to its results in Activity, and scroll sideways when the pad gets busy.
  • ◆ Slack actions now accept #channel-names everywhere (not just when sending), and errors tell you what to actually do — like which OAuth scope the bot token is missing or that the bot needs a /invite.
  • ◆ Fixed "connector not found" when creating a simulated connection for newer catalog apps like Microsoft Outlook.
New

Per-action permissions on every connection

  • ◆ Admins can now set a permission on each individual action of a connection: Automatic (runs with no approval step), Manual approve (every automated use — assistant, skills, playbooks, external AI — queues for human approval), or Never (the action is disabled entirely).
  • ◆ Set it right on the connector page, next to each action. Unset actions keep the standard behavior.
  • ◆ Every policy change is recorded in the Audit trail.
Improved

Batch delete for connections

  • ◆ Select multiple connections on the Connections page and remove them in one go — move to Trash or delete forever, same as single removals.
  • ◆ Fixed an error that could block deleting a connection that had audit history.
New

100+ integrations, and full-API access on every one

  • ◆ The catalog jumped to 100+ connectable apps — GitHub, Stripe, Salesforce, HubSpot, Jira, Notion, Datadog, Okta, Snowflake, Guesty, and many more — each usable instantly in Simulated mode with no keys.
  • ◆ Every connector now includes full-API access: the built-in shortcuts cover common tasks, but OrbitAPI can reach the app’s entire API on request — so you can pull all-time history and bulk data that the app’s own screens cap or hide.
  • ◆ Curated actions are grouped by topic and searchable, so even big connectors stay easy to scan.
New

Connect your AI — OrbitAPI becomes an MCP server

  • ◆ Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor can now operate your workspace directly: your connectors become tools your AI assistant can call, with reads executing instantly and risky actions queuing for your approval.
  • ◆ The welcome wizard now runs your first real AI mission during setup and shows you the report it wrote, live.
  • ◆ New public integrations catalog, solutions pages, and this changelog.
Improved

Mission-control redesign

  • ◆ The whole app moved to a floating mission-control shell with a new visual identity — every tab got a cleaner, faster layout.
  • ◆ Keyboard-shortcut panel and command polish throughout.
New

Approval gates for skills

  • ◆ Skills can now require human approval before any write or destructive action — the AI does the work, you keep the trigger.
  • ◆ Skills can be scoped to specific connections, so an agent only ever sees the systems you hand it.
New

Simulated mode for every connector

  • ◆ Every available connector now runs as a realistic, consistent sandbox — create tickets, query invoices, contain endpoints — with zero API keys and zero risk.
  • ◆ New Activity hub unifies run outputs and history across skills, playbooks, and chat.
New

Guided setup, playbook canvas, and per-connector access control

  • ◆ New guided welcome wizard takes you from signup to your first completed AI run in about a minute.
  • ◆ Drag-and-drop canvas for building playbooks visually.
  • ◆ Role-based access controls per connector and action risk, plus optional email reports after every skill run.
New

Bundles & Marketplace

  • ◆ One-click bundles — Security SOC, Support Ops, Accountant, Threat Hunter, and more — install connectors, playbooks, and skills as a working unit, entirely in Simulated mode if you choose.
  • ◆ The bundle builder reuses connections you already have and lets you substitute vendors (e.g. Sophos instead of CrowdStrike).
Foundation

Liftoff

  • ◆ OrbitAPI is born: workspaces with role-based access, the connector framework, the first connectors, and the Orbit Assistant.
